On Wednesday, September 11th, the legendary jazz/funk group The Headhunters will perform at The Hamilton in Washington, D.C., with the brillant funk/blues guitarist Sol Roots as the opening act.

The current band consists of a top notch quintet with Clark, Summers and Harrison joined by bassist Chris Severin (Dr. John, Diana Krall, The Neville Brothers) and pianist Kyle Roussel (Preservation Hall Jazz Band), both staples on the New Orleans music scene. Managed by Greg Lucas and Craig Walker at Devil Hills Entertainment, the band is poised for success in 2024, having recorded a new album (and accompanying feature length documentary) at the legendary Hyde Street Studios in August 2023 and completed a sold out European tour in November 2023 including two nights at the London Jazz Festival.

The Sol Roots band performs a mix of New Orleans influenced funk, deep blues, energetic rock, heartfelt soul, and hypnotic grooves. Sol is a ferocious guitarist and vocalist who has toured around the world with many musical legends.
The Sol Roots band has shared the stage with acts such as Jon Cleary, Soulive, Dumpstaphunk, The Wood Brothers, Sonny Landreth, Robert Randolph, Eric Lindell, Roosevelt Collier, Cory Henry, Victor Wainwright, Booker T Jones, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene and many more.
