Holden McAleer
Has repaired and serviced bassoons for many of the world's finest bassoonists since 1978. His areas of expertise include mechanical and sealing work, custom keywork, voicing and tuning.
Holden McAleer was a featured speaker at the 1991 and 2003 IDRS Conventions and at the 2001 Convention in Philadelphia of the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians.
Taught master classes in bassoon care, repair and maintenance at the University of Akron, the Peabody Conservatory, Penn State University, Grand Valley State University (Michigan), and Towson University.

Master of Music in Bassoon Performance, University of Michigan; Bachelor of Music in Music Education, University of Michigan, including extensive study in bassoon repair and acoustics with Prof. Hugh Cooper. Earlier studies with Kenneth Pasmanick, principal bassoon of the National Symphony Orchestra. Studied acoustics with the noted acoustician Arthur Benade.
He plays a 7,000 series Heckel.
