People first walking into HR-57 are often heard making the comment, This is what a jazz club is supposed to look like. While HR-57 is officially a non-profit center dedicated to the preservation of jazz and blues, most patrons know the low-profile spot as an informal place to listen to music for the people, by the people with friends, with a first date or solo. Wednesdays and Thursdays are jam session nights, Fridays and Saturdays are usually more of feature nights for local and sometimes national talent.
