Strike Up the Big Bands! - Dreyfoos School of the Arts Fall Jazz Concert at DSOA Jazz Series at Dreyfoos School of the Arts at Meyer Hall - Dreyfoos School Of The Arts

Join us for a wonderful evening of Big Band Jazz with South Florida's most talented rising jazz musicians at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts, under the direction of gifted composer and music educator Pedro Hernandez-Ibarra. Winner of the Palm Beach Battle of the Bands 2012, the storied DSOA Jazz program will present three groups. It's a wonderful evening of music featuring an opening jazz combo, the Zero Hour Jazz Band, and then the elite Jazz Ensemble 1, (JE1), with arguably the best saxophone line of any high school big band in the country. The band features Florida All-State saxophonists Philip Ahn (tenor) and Alex Ramirez (alto), Orlando Heritage Festival soloist winners Adesh Balraj (trumpet) and Alex Lacy (alto sax), and bassist Vincent Moore and drummer Tyson Jackson, who were tapped to travel to Utah for advanced clinics with the Juilliard Jazz Workshops this summer...
