Kitchen Sink is an ensemble of like-minded musicians, improvisors, and composers dedicated to the creation and performance of original music. The band experiments with large groups of improvising musicians playing instruments from a wide variety of instrument families. The group was originally created in 2023 to premiere new compositions by the band leader Nathan Hansen. Since its inception, Kitchen Sink has collaborated with many local artists such as Francesco Protasi, Maeve Sullivan, and most recently, the Flash’s own award-winning songwriter Nile Gay. Impressions is the band’s first album and is set to release in September 2025. It features the music of Nathan Hansen, Dominick DeStefano, and most prominently, a saxophone concerto composed by Francesco Protasi. Kitchen Sink is very excited to bring the music from this album back to life for a one-time performance at the Kennett Flash to celebrate the release of this recording....
