The star-studded concert as the part of the 37th International Jazz Festival Praha will celebrate 40th anniversary of the Prague Big Band Milan Svoboda and as a special guest presents the legendary American saxophonist and composer Bob Mintzer. Czech Television has shown interest in this musical event in the Prague.
Prague Big Band was the first Czechoslovak musical ensemble, which became famous not only in Europe but also abroad. Significant personality of Czech jazz scene, from Jiří Stivín Emil Viklicky over Štěpán Markovic, František Kopa, after Miroslav Hloucal, Petra Kalfus and other stars of the new generation, went through the orchestra for respectable period of time. Not to mention the foreign guests - James Moody, Maria Schneider, Jerry Bergonzi, Ed Partyka etc. Not just because of it Prague Big Band still maintains a high standard and wonderful sound....
