From October through February, on the second Wednesday of each month, the Hot Springs Jazz Society presents a free "America's Art Form" concert (6-7:30 pm) in the Garland County Library's auditorium. Each concert highlights a specific type/era of jazz and features a special guest artist performing with the AAF jazz combo, composed of pianist Clyde Pound (Hot Springs Jazz Society Entertainment Director), bassist David Higginbotham, and percussionist Jay Payette. Guest saxophonist Dave Williams II will perform at the "Icons and Innovators" concert on 10 December 2014. The concert will highlight jazz by such artists as Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Lester Young, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Ornette Coleman. ...
