"America's Art Form" Concert: Poetry and Jazz at Garland County Library

From October through February, on the second Wednesday of each month, the Hot Springs Jazz Society presents a free "America's Art Form" concert (6-7:30 pm) in the Garland County Library's auditorium. Each concert highlights a specific type/era of jazz and features a special guest artist performing with accomplished jazz musicians provided by the Hot Springs Jazz Society. Performing on 11 February 2015 are Clyde Pound (keys), David Higginbotham (upright bass), and Jay Payette (drums). Guest artists are poets Kai Coggin, Maria Kuntz, and Chuck Dodson (who will also sit in on keys). "America's Art Form" concerts for 2014-2015 highlight "The Traditional Music of NOLA" (8 October), "Theme Songs of the Big Band Era" (12 November), "Icons and Innovators" (10 December), "Frank Sinatra's Greatest Hits" (14 January), and "Poetry and Jazz" (11 February). The "America's Art Form" series is supported in part by the Arkansas Arts Council (Department of Arkansas Heritage) and the National Endowment for the Arts.
