The 2017 Arkansas Jazz Festival (presented by Arkansas Jazz Educators) will include free outdoor concerts on Friday, 21 April (approximately 3:30-9:30pm) and Saturday, 22 April (approximately 8:30am-6pm) at Little Rock's Riverfront Amphitheater and at/near Dardanelle's Front Street Gazebo. Held in conjunction with Jazz Appreciation Month (April), these concerts (scheduled each hour at each site) will feature dozens of jazz bands from colleges, high schools, and junior high/middle schools. (See below for specific bands and performance times in Little Rock on Saturday, 22 April.) Renowned trombonist Scott Whitfield (scottwhitfield.com) will perform with the jazz band from the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Friday (5:30pm) in Dardanelle and on Saturday (12pm) in Little Rock.
