Wednesday, August 21 – Big Broadway Sing-Along Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids Fund Raiser with Sean Baker, the Music Maker and John Phillips, your Host with the Most! Join John Phillips and Sean Baker for Chef Joseph’s first Big Broadway Sing-Along. We will provide the words in Chef Joseph’s Broadway Hymnal, Sean’s got the Baby Grand and John will coach you along. You provide the fun! Sing-along if you like, or just enjoy our fine Food and Spirits and listen in!
John Phillips has been performing since the age of 5 when he sang his first solo at his kindergarten graduation and he hasn’t stopped singing since. He has been a part of the Indianapolis theatre scene since 1980 and has worked at most of the theatres in town including The Phoenix, the Edyvean, Indianapolis Civic, Buck Creek Players, Theatre on the Square, Madame Walker, American Cabaret Theatre, and Footlite Musicals. He is a 14 time Encore Award Winner, and was named “Best Actor In A Musical” by the Indianapolis Star for his portrayal of Ko-Ko in The Mikado, and was recently named “Best Performer” for his portrayal of Cosme McMoon in Souvenir, by the Indiana Community Theatre Association. He is a graduate of Butler University and holds a B.M.E in Music Education. He has been a music educator for 26 years and is currently the Music Specialist at Clinton Young Elementary School and is also the Praise Team Leader at Epworth United Methodist Church. He is thrilled to have recently appeared in the World Premiere of “Hairspray” in concert with the Indianapolis and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras, starring Tony Award Winner, Beth Leavel, and Mickey Dolenz of “The Monkees”....
