Cranbrook Christmas Jazz at Christ Church Cranbrook

Since 2016, thanks to the Erb Family Foundation, Christ Church Cranbrook has been the home to Cranbrook Christmas Jazz. Each year, outstanding jazz performers have joined the Christ Church Cranbrook Choir to provide a free holiday concert in the beautiful sanctuary of the church. This year, because of the ongoing pandemic, we could not open the church doors to all to enjoy this concert. Yet, as jazz’s hallmark is improvisation, God also improvises and makes a way to something new.

This year we are proud to present the online premiere of Cranbrook Christmas Jazz: Grace Out of Necessity. Joining us this year, we welcome back the Rodney Whitaker Sextet along with guest vocalist Vanessa Rubin and the Christ Church Cranbrook choir. This gorgeous concert will lift your hearts and spirits and bring you the good news of the season: Christ is born for us. We will invite you to spread the goodwill by donating to our partner Accent Pontiac, strengthening Pontiac’s youth and community through equitable access to intensive and consistent music making....
