The 17th annual CUNY Jazz Festival returns this
May featuring special concerts by Hammond B3 organ guru Dr. Lonnie Smith. The two-day festival, presented by City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) and the City College of New York Jazz Program, will showcase performances by the CCNY Jazz Orchestra and musicians from throughout the CUNY system, and free master classes presented by saxophonist Jon Gordon and vocalist René Marie.

The festival kicks off on Thursday, May 4, with a performance by the CCNY Faculty Jazz Ensemble at noon, followed by a master class featuring Gordon and performance by student ensembles. The festival wraps up with a gala concert featuring the CCNY Student Jazz All-Stars followed by the Dr. Lonnie Smith Trio at 7:30 p.m.


Music lovers are encouraged to come out for jam sessions, master classes, and more! All events are free with the exception of the gala concert, which is $15 for General Admission and free with CUNY ID. Tickets for the gala concert can be purchased online on the CCCA website or via the Aaron Davis Hall box office.
