EVAN SHERMAN BIG BAND
23 year-old drummer, bandleader, composer/arranger, Evan Sherman has played all over the world with Ron Carter, Cyrus Chestnut, Roy Hargrove. Jimmy Heath, Branford and Wynton Marsalis, James Moody, Jon Batiste and the Dizzy Gillespie All-Stars.
In 2014, Evan formed the Evan Sherman a 16-piece Big Band, which consists of up-and-coming young lions alongside a rotating cast of seasoned veterans and guests. As they continue their two and a half year residency at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola's late night dance parties, the band headline at the 2017 Perth International Arts Festival. Past appearances have been at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing, Appel Room, Rainbow Room, Ginny's Supper Club, The Django, Bowery Electric, and Caramoor Jazz Festival - where they premiered an original piece of jazz theater, "A Story of Patience"....
