No one knows more about jazz history than Allan Chase, a brilliant scholar and phenomenal player of alto sax, informed by Sin Ra, Ornette Coleman, Gerry Mulligan, and more. For this event, Chase has dug up rarely played standards for his great band. Everyone's favorite professor, he’s a legendary teacher who has shaped a generation or more of jazz musicians. DownBeat magazine dubbed him “an edgier kind of cool.”
