With his smaller group, “Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble”, they perform repertoire that honors the pioneers of Latin jazz, such as Mario Bauzá and Tito Puente, while progressing the genre with contemporary interpretations. O’Farrill himself has performed with legends such as Dizzy Gillespie, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte.
