Austin Lindy Exchange is a four day, nonstop swing dance extravaganza with seven Live Bands and dancers from around the world.

An “Exchange” in the Swing Dance world, is a designated weekend that a city invites the entire world to come dance for the weekend. This idea of “Exchanges” first came about on Dec 4-6, 1998 when some spunky dancers from Chicago went to San Francisco to dance and stayed at dancers homes. The idea caught on quickly and soon several cities around the world were offering Exchanges. Austin Texas held its first Exchange in Nov 2000. Austin Swing Syndicate has an amazing line up of live music including The Jonathan Stout Orchestra, Rent Party, Michael Gamble and His Rhythm Serenaders, Jonathon Doyle Swingtet, Jonathan Stout and His Campus Five, Hal Smith’s Swing Central, The Pro-Band Jam and The Dirty River Dixie Band. There will be hundreds of dancers from all over the US and some international dancers as well. Austin Lindy Exchange is a great time to meet dancers from all over and “Exchange” dance styles and culture.
