Brazilian trio Azymuth will celebrate the release of their new studio album with a performance at Korjaamo's Vaunusali in Helsinki on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The concert's opening act is Brazilian singer-songwriter Bruno Berle.
Azymuth is one of Brazil's most influential bands, credited with creating their own genre by blending jazz-funk rhythms with samba—resulting in the style known as "samba doido." Over their 50-year career, the band has released more than 30 albums and collaborated with legends such as Jorge Ben, Milton Nascimento, and Marcos Valle.
Although José Roberto Bertami and Ivan Conti have passed away, bassist Alex Malheiros continues Azymuth's legacy alongside keyboardist Kiko Continentino and drummer Renato Massa. This year, the band will release their new album, Arabutã.
The evening will be completed by young composer, poet, and multi-instrumentalist Bruno Berle, who masterfully blends Brazil's musical traditions with modern influences.

Azymuth lukeutuu Brasilian kaikkien aikojen tärkeimpiin yhtyeisiin ja voi ottaa kunnian oman musiikkityylinsä luomisesta: jazz-funkin ja samban yhdistelmästä syntyi aikanaan genre "samba doido". Yli 50-vuotisen uransa aikana yhtye on julkaissut reilut 30 albumia ja tehnyt yhteistyötä muun muassa Jorge Benin, Milton Nascimenton ja Marcos Vallen kanssa.
Vaikka José Roberto Bertami ja Ivan Conti ovat menehtyneet, basisti Alex Malheiros jatkaa Azymuthin perinnettä kosketinsoittaja Kiko Continentinon ja rumpali Renato Massan kanssa. Tänä vuonna yhtye julkaisee uuden albuminsa Arabutã.
Illan täydentää nuori säveltäjä, runoilija ja multi-instrumentalisti Bruno Berle, joka yhdistää brasilialaisia perinteitä nykypäivän vaikutteisiin.
