Baloji antaa tanssijalalle treeniä, hymyssä suin. Kongossa syntyneen, sittemmin belgialaistuneen muusikon tanssigrooven ytimessä on ranskankielinen rap. Sitä ympäröi runsaudensarvi erilaisia tyylien yhdistelmiä: reggaeta, soulia, retro-funkia… Energisyyden Baloji hakee ikiaikaisista kongorytmeistä, mm. soukous-musiikista ja balafoneista. Tekstien tärkeä sanoma nuoren miehen juurettomuudesta ja synnyinmaa Kongon kivuliaista vaiheista välittyy, kuitenkin aina ilon kautta.
Balojia pidetään legendaarisen Papa Wemban modernina manttelinperijänä. Molempia miehiä yhdistää musiikin lisäksi pettämätön tyylitaju.
