Sounds of Brazil PDX presents an evening highlighting the wonderful compositions of Rio-born guitarist and composer Durval Ferreira, who wrote for, produced, and performed with Cannonball Adderley, Sarah Vaughan, Leny Andrade, and many others in both the jazz and bossa nova worlds.
We will be playing his most famous compositions as well as some obscure gems.
Personnel will include Gabriela Gimenes (flute), Alexandra Santos (voice), Kerry Politzer (piano), Ben Graves (guitar), Bernardo Gomez (bass), Steven Schob (percussion), Micah Hummel (drums), and special guest Peter Fung (cavaquinho).
