Blicher Hemmer Gadd at Lost Lane

Dublinjazz.ie is extremely excited to bring you one of the top 10 drummers of all time, Steve Gadd. The legendary drummer will be appearing in Dublin this November in an intimate club gig. Gadd will be performing with the Blicher Hemmer Gadd project, a fantastic organ trio with award winning Danish Saxophonist Michael Blicher and Danish organ wizard Dan Hemmer. These guys have performed over 60 concerts together. They have developed a unique sound all their own and in the trio format each gets to display their incredible musicianship.

This is a rare opportunity to get close and feast of the incredible sound, groove and technique of arguably the greatest living drummer playing today. Gadd is the man associated with changing drumming forever following his sensational performance on the title track of Steely Dan’s Aja. The music that Michael writes for this band is just very unique and it fits perfectly to his and Dan’s way of playing. I grew up listening to organ bands – I love that kind of music. I know Michael has been listening to a lot of great New Orleans drummers, and I think he has come up with his own unique thing and the crowds loved it. “
