Founded in 2013, Bowman Trio is a gifted young group, formed by trumpeter Tomi Nikku, bassist Joonas Tuuri and drummer Sami Nummela.
The group has taken a surprising narrative framework for their music: namely, the story of the Swedish Johan Bowman -- a man who migrated to the West Coast of the U.S. in the 1950s, climbed to the peak of Mount Everest, fled Erwin Rommel in the Sahara desert and worked for the CIA. Expect cinematic tunes inspired by an astonishing life and in the style of the cool West Coast jazz -- a genre whose golden age coincided with the life of Bowman himself.

Bowman Trio on kolmen nousevaa jazzsukupolvea edustavan lahjakkaan muusikon yhtye. Vuonna 2013 perustetussa triossa soittavat trumpetisti Tomi Nikku, basisti Joonas Tuuri sekä rumpali Sami Nummela.
Yhtyeen ajatuksellisena lähtökohtana on ruotsalaisen, 1950-luvulla Amerikan länsirannikolle muuttaneen Johan Bowmanin tarina. Mies, joka valloitti Mount Everestin, Pakeni Saharassa Erwin Rommelia ja toimi CIA:n agenttina. Yhtyeen musiikki on elokuvamaisia kuvauksia hetkistä Johan Bowmanin elämässä. Mount Everestin huipulla viheltävä tuuli, Saharan hiekan suhina, sekä autoradiosta takaa-ajon aikana rätisevä Miles Ahead -kasetti.
1950-luvun amerikkalaisesta West Coast- tyylistä inspiroitunut yhtyeen kuulas soittotapa nivoo yhteen maisemia ja tunnelmia eri ajoilta ja maailman eri kolkilta perinteisellä jazzsoundillaan.
