Chico Pinheiro
One of the leading figures in modern Brazilian music, Chico Pinheiro is a rare talent. Not only an exceptional guitarist with a wonderful sound and great fluidity, - and, to boot, hushed, near falsetto vocals that perfectly offset his voluptuous playing! Chico is also a highly original and mature composer/arranger, which are qualities that stand out on his solo recordings. Elected ‘RISING STAR’ by DOWNBEAT Magazine, in 2012, He has performed and recorded with the 'cream of the crop' of Brazilian artists, such as Rosa Passos, João Donato, Luciana Souza and César Camargo Mariano, while also making his mark internationally by collaborating with Dianne Reeves, Bob Mintzer, Chris Potter, Eddie Gomez, Claudio Roditi, Brad Mehldau and Esperanza Spalding.
