Chuck Israels Jazz Orchestra at Fremont Theater

Following the success of their much anticipated debut, Portland's premier jazz orchestra returns to the Fremont Theater to celebrate the release of two upcoming recordings-- "Concerto Peligroso" and Jessica Israels' "Now I Know" out on US/German Dot Time Records.

Chuck's exquisite and sensitive compositions, including the spectacular mini-concerto for piano from which the album gets its title, make up the majority of the tracks on "Concerto Peligroso". Jessica Israels' first solo recording "Now I Know" is the result of a lifelong study of jazz and classical vocal music, and a long overdue milestone in her professional career that began when she was only 10 years old. There are a number of different styles represented on this recording-- from Ellington/Strayhorn's "Im Checking out, Goombye", to Jerome Kern's "The Song Is You", to Andre and Dory Previn's "Now I Know" and "Lose Me Now", all performed with the passion and authenticity that is characteristic of Jessica's singing.
