The « not to be missed  » trombonist of the French scene for 20 years, road companion of Thomas de Pourquery, Le Sacre du Tympan, Nougaro, Manu Dibango, Tony Allen and so many others, Daniel Zimmermann launches his 3rd album with a very personal rereading of Serge Gainsbourg’s work, with the musicians of his multi-awarded album « Montagnes Russes ». Lively, playful, touching, the ensemble goes back and forth between offbeat arrangements and the creation of real new pieces, elaborated from ingredients extracted from the original work of the mythical singer-composer. Concentrated around the Gainsbourg of before Gainsbarre, the most creative from the point of view of the melodies, the 4 strong heads associate the raw energy of the rock with the creative and spirited freedom of the jazz. Extraordinaire tromboniste de la scène française depuis vingt ans, Daniel Zimmermann propose une relecture jazzy  de l’œuvre mythique de Serge Gainsbourg. Se concentrant surtout sur le répertoire d’avant Gainsbarre, le plus créatif du point de vue des mélodies, le quartet insuffle un nouveau souffle aux mélodies de l’homme à la tête de choux. Tour à tour vivants, ludiques et émouvants, ces arrangements parfois décalés multiplient les clins d’œil au maître pour mieux s’en détourner, avec irrévérence et malice.
