Danilo Perez Trio at Royal Conservatory Koerner Hall

Danilo Pérez first captured the spotlight as the youngest member of Dizzy Gillespie’s United Nation Orchestra and as pianist on Gillespie’s Grammy Award-winning recording, Live at the Royal Festival Hall. Now he brings his trio, featuring John Patitucci and Brian Blade (from Wayne Shorter’s quartet), to share their love of Dizzy and his music. A highlight of this special performance is the world premiere of Pérez’s piano quintet commissioned by The Banff Centre, and performed by The Conservatory’s own Cecilia String Quartet.
