DC Jazz Festival presents a Jazz in the ‘Hoods concerts with Haitian-Cuban influenced Quiet Life Mambo featuring Afro-Cuban percussionist Felix Contreras and electric violinist David Schulman.
Contreras is the co-host of Alt.Latino, NPR’s web-based program about Latin alternative music and Latino culture. He plays Afro-Cuban percussion with various jazz and Latin bands. Electric violinist Schulman’s music is completely mesmerizing and unique. His more recent album, ANHINGA, was named one of the Best DC Jazz Albums of 2016 by CapitalBop.
