Debut Del Grupo Gelato at Fiesta Sunset Jazz

To conclude the November performances, the Sunset Jazz Festival will feature the debuting trio Gelato! on Friday the 28th.

Gelato is an instrumental music trio that offers countless expressions through jazz and creative music, resulting from the collaboration of three musician friends from the Dominican and Latin music scene.

Javier Robiou on drums, Gustavo Medina on guitar, and Nicolás Mondragón on saxophones will present a repertoire ranging from original compositions, jazz, and Afro-Caribbean music.

This trio configuration of guitar, sax, and drums is often called a power trio and can also be found in other genres such as fusion and some forms of experimental music. The saxophone and guitar often interact melodically and harmonically, while the drummer provides the rhythmic foundation, allowing for the creation of a wide range of dynamics, from intimate and delicate passages to powerful and energetic improvisations.
