AKA Marcelo Frota took the long way round from Rio De Janeiro to Hackney - via spells in Angola, the US, Portugal and Spain - but we’re so glad he did, and is bringing a full live band to Deeper Cuts! They’ll be performing music from MOMO.’s stunning seventh album Gira - which means to dance or swing, and the undeniable beat and beautiful songwriting will do just that. Donna Thompson

North London native Donna Thompson is a phenomenal singer-songwriter and true multi-instrumentalist. A big part of the TRC family, Donna and MOMO. actually spent time playing together in Alabaster DePlume’s band. We’re really lucky to have her opening the night, with music old and new, drawn from her gorgeous releases on PRAH.

Karl Bos + Friends (DJ)

Deeper Cuts is curated by Karl Bos, who is a DJ and the host of a long-running show of the same name on Soho Radio. He’s immersed in new music as a national jazz radio producer. He’ll play some songs around the bands, and rope in his selector buddies to play some others.

It’s a DIY not-for-profit series, with everything after costs going to the artists on top of their fees. Supporter tickets are for people who want to and can afford to pay a little more.
