Flugelhornist Dmitri Matheny has been lauded by the International Review of Music as “one of the most emotionally expressive improvisers of his generation.” An honors graduate of the Berklee College of Music, he vaulted onto the jazz scene in the 1990s as the protégé of jazz flugelhorn master,Art Farmer, and has since garnered critical acclaim and a loyal international following. He has released eleven CDs and tours extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
Matheny will lead an all-star ensemble of Seattle’s finest, including Bill Anschell piano, Phil Sparks bass, Mark Ivester drums.
