The Budapest-based EastWing Group has been operating in its current form for six years. Our goal is to help make this still somewhat underdeveloped genre (as our former band member, Gergely Agócs, puts it – “genre-less”) and performance style a Hungarian specialty. In doing so, we aim to promote the understanding and preservation of our own culture and values, as well as contribute to the recognition and acceptance of Hungarian cultural values.

Our program features modern afro and dubstep rhythms, improvisations on contemporary and folk themes (in addition to our original compositions, we also include works by Kurtág and Bartók), with exciting instrumental – and sometimes even dance solos – adding color to our performance.
