El Profesor, a joined effort by musicians/composers Alejandro FlĂłrez, Diego ObregĂłn and VĂctor-AndrĂ©s Cruz, is a trio inspired by the music of the Andean region of Colombia synthesized through a collective experience living in a city like New York. Intricate yet simple songs are spontaneously arranged by them as they feel the moment and improvise according to what each other interprets during a specific song, keeping the “country side and peasant” essence that this music possesses. The tunes range from Bambucos, Pasillos, Danzas, Guabinas, Rumbas Criollas, Torbellinos, etc from the traditional repertoire as well as original compositions of their own.
