Newburgh's finest and a serious veteran of countless world-class jazz ensembles (very much including his own), EP makes his first appearance at UT/AL with what is, for me, his finest current ensemble. James Keepnews wrote on social media last month:

"Our local hero EP has led and/or been heard on dozens of recordings over (count 'em) four decades, with his very first appearance on Decode Yourself, a Bill Laswell production for Island that captured a particularly ferocious edition of RSJ's incendiary electric band The Decoding Society in astonishing form (it opens with the heavy metal tear-up of Dizzy (Gillespie)'s "Bebop" that Mitch Goldman opens his "Deep Focus" program with every Monday on WKCR-FM — of course, Eric's been a regular guest on it). Eric revisits that killing, deeply slept upon songbook with a potent, unrivaled authority in his RSJ Project and is joined by the all-star Hudson Valley lineup of Neil Nail Alexander on keys, Nate Allen on bass and Peter O'Brien on drums."...

Opening for EP's RSJP will be the electro-acoustic ensemble Ill Logic Flextet, featuring Daniel Carter on reeds, trumpet and flute, Ayumi Ishito on tenor saxophone and effects, and JK on electric guitar and laptop.
