Zeitun, the Arabic word for 'olive', is the green symbol of the Mediterranean area. The band, which has already performed in several festivals and concert venues, presents a vibrant show in which both its songs and traditional tunes are imbibed of soundscapes in Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, and Sicily. Zeitun takes on the wondrous challenge of strengthening ties with both banks in the Mediterranean, rediscovering ancient connections and building bridges by means of innovation.
Thus, the palos (styles) of flamenco, the music from southern Italy, tanguillos, Sicilian balletu, bulerías, tarantos, tarantella, pizzica and tammurriata and the tango come together in a creative space influenced by jazz which also tries to be respectful towards tradition.
