Evening of Jazz Celebrating International Jazz Day
The Sixth Annual Evening of Jazz with The College of the Mainland Jazz Ensemble directed by Sparky Koerner and the Texas City High School Jazz Band directed by Casey Watson along with internationally known saxophonist Chris Vadala as guest artist will be in concert on April 30, 2016. The concert will take place at 6 pm at the Texas City High School Auditorium 1431 Ninth Ave North, Texas City, TX 77590.

The groups will play some traditional and contemporary jazz selections: COM will perform Dizzy Gillespie’s “A Night in Tunisia”, Quincy Jones’ “Quintessence”, Oliver Nelson’s “Self Help is Needed” and high school band will play Chick Corea’s “Spain”, Bob Mintzer’s “Computer” and the classic “My Funny Valentine”.

The concert is open to the public and admission is free.
