Free Sounds: Birta Miki - Gábor Kollmann – Kornél Mogyoró
For the first time in eleven years, free jazz will take place at the Érd Jazz Festival. Three exceptional musicians will take to the stage in the spirit of improvisation and free music making: jazz guitarist Birta Miki, saxophonist Gábor Kollmann, and Kornél Mogyoró, who enriches the sound of the formation with his arsenal of percussion instruments.
Birta Miki and Gábor Kollmann, who live in Érd, know each other well, as they are both members of the Budapest Jazz Orchestra led by Kollmann. Miles Davis evening / Davis 100: Fekete-Kovács – Subicz – Koós-Hutás – Fekete – Tűzkő octet
One of the most influential figures in the history of jazz, Miles Davis, would celebrate his 100th birthday in a few months. On the occasion of this significant anniversary, five outstanding Hungarian trumpeters will commemorate the legendary musician, whose work fundamentally transformed the world of jazz and jazz trumpeting. Davis incorporated new trends into his music, thus opening the way to a wider audience.
All five trumpeters lead their own orchestras, among them Kornél Fekete-Kovács, the artistic director of the Modern Art Orchestra, undertook to conduct the evening. Every generation is represented in the octet: Gábor Subicz, Áron Koós-Hutás, István Fekete, and the youngest talent, Salamon Tűzkő, pay tribute to one of their greatest masters.
The accompanying orchestra is the rhythm section of the MAO - József Barcza Horváth, Gábor Cseke, László Csízi -, so the harmony is guaranteed to be masterful.
Kornél Fekete-Kovács – Gábor Subicz – Áron Koós-Hutás – István Fekete – Salamon Tűzkő - trumpet & József Barcza Horváth - bass, Gábor Cseke - piano, László Csízi - drums
To close the evening, we will celebrate the 10+1. Érd Jazz Festival with a birthday cake, which was not held last year.
