With the sand and waves of Fort Lauderdale Beach in the background, the Friday Night Sound Waves Live Music Series returns to the Hub located at Las Olas Boulevard and A1A from March 18th to November 18th from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. The March 25th performance will be the first of the Broadway to the Beach Series. Scotsman Rus Anderson will perform as a young 1970’s Elton John in the tribute show ‘Rocket Man.’ Featured at Legends in Concert, Hard Rock Live, House of Blues and BB King’s, Rus performs a night of Elton John's greatest hits. Other Friday Night Sound Waves performers in the 36-week music series include a tribute to Jazz Appreciation month in April featuring two-time Latin Grammy Award winning musician, Ed Calle and a half-dozen of Fort Lauderdale’s ‘Underground Lauderdale’ artists, including South Florida’s favorite ‘good time reggae band’, Spred the Dub. Featuring some of South Florida’s best musical talents performing an eclectic range of genres including jazz, blues, big band swing, indie rock, salsa and classic Americana, the free live music series aims to entertain area locals, global visitors - from the young to the young at heart. Those attending are encouraged to don flip-flops and set up a beach chair in the sand to take in the ocean breezes and spectacular sights and sounds.
