Bassist Scott LaFaro died tragically young in 1961 but made a huge impact on the jazz scene during his 18 month period with pianist Bill Evans, who described him as the best jazz musician he ever worked with. They left behind a handful of classic trio recordings with drummer Paul Motian which revolutionised the jazz piano trio format. Dave Green, whose first recording was with Ben Webster, and Gareth Williams explore the music of Evans and LaFaro and show us what might have been if Scott had lived beyond 25.
