Victoria piano jazz guru George Essihos, who has taught and inspired scores of music students over the decades, plays trio jazz standards with bassist Joey Smith and drummer Don Leppard in a rare live performance — so rare that CBC Radio’s Jurgen Gothe once said “George Essihos is the West Coast’s best kept jazz secret” — at Sylvan United Church, 985 Shawnigan-Mill Bay Rd., Mill Bay, on Saturday Mar. 7 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Church Mice Productions concert series.
