Artiste caméléon, figure incontournable de la scène Jazz contemporaine, collaborateur de monuments de la musique aux états-unis tels que Stevie Wonder, Billy Cobham, Frank Zappa ou Don Ellis, Glenn Ferris a également marqué l’histoire du jazz en Europe en montant au début des années 90 le quartet mythique “Palatino” avec Aldo Romano, Paolo Fresu et Michel Benita.Personnage aussi discret qu’inspiré, Alain Jean-Marie possède la subtilité harmonique, l’assise rythmique, l’amour de la phrase mélodique et le sens du toucher qui sont la marque des grands pianistes, et le distinguent à l’évidence comme un des solistes majeurs de la scène européenne.« Ce concert à l’ECUJE me donne l’occasion de refaire de la musique avec deux de mes camarades de mon parcours musical.  Nous revenons en arrière de nombreuses années mais la musique que nous ferons sera aussi fraîche que demain. Ce sera la toute première représentation de ce trio. J’ai joué avec Alain-Jean Marie (un maître de l’éloquence qui est l’un des meilleurs pianistes de classe mondiale) dans de nombreuses formations musicales différentes, notamment avec nos duos trombone-piano. Et Bruno Rousselet est mon bassiste de prédilection depuis de nombreuses années, participant et enregistrant à mes nombreux groupes au fil des ans (Glenn Ferris trio – Chrominance trio – Ferriswheel trio – Pentessence quintet – Glenn Ferris Newtet.)
