After last year's hugely successful concert, we cannot be without Desmond, who made his name and fame with the Dave Brubeck Quartet and that’s why people tend to overlook the wonderful music he made with the musically likeminded trumpeter, Chet Baker. This quintet made up from top musicians on the Hungarian jazz scene and dreamed up by saxophonist, KRISTÓF BACSÓ is using the Desmond-Baker recordings as the source of their tribute and inspiration. Bacsó, ‘playing the role of Desmond’ has played extensively all over Europe, Asia and the States and is presently the Head of Jazz at the world-famous Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. Co-leader, trumpeter KORNÉL FEKETE-KOVÁCS, ‘playing Chet Baker’, leader of the internationally known Modern Art Orchestra, won the audience poll of Hungary’s largest jazz news portal, Magyar Jazz.hu in three categories, as trumpeter, composer and arranger of the year. His band, MAO was also voted big band of the year. The rest of this stellar crew is made up of ISTVÁN TÓTH Jr on guitar, MARCELL GYÁNYI on bass and LÁSZLÓ CSÍZI on the drums....
