Harmónia Jazz Workshop: Horváth Szabolcs Quartet at Budapest Jazz Club

We became aware of the astonishing talent of this young pianist, SZABOLCS HORVÁTH at one of our talent-seeking showcases. His technique, his compositional skill and his imaginative improvisation were simply amazing. He started playing at the age of 3 and proceeded to learn classical piano at the School for the Blind, and from the age of 11 he took on jazz as well. In 2019 he received a special prize at the 4th Nationwide Jazz Music Competition. At the fifth such competition he walked away with the first prize for his then band, Jazzpince, and also with a first for his solo performance on the piano, as well as the top award for his composition ‘Zuzmo’. In 2022 he enrolled at the world-famous Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. The following year he came first at the ‘Creative Art Competition for Improvisers’ and in 2024 he won the title ‘Jazz Talent of the Year’.
