His artistry has earned numerous accolades, including two BBC Jazz Awards (2004, 2007), a Parliamentary Jazz Award (2018), and nominations from Downbeat Magazine (2017) and Jazz FM (2013, 2019).
Renowned for both solo work and collaborations, Shaw performs with his regular piano trio as well as big bands and orchestras worldwide. He has worked with legends including Quincy Jones, Abdullah Ibrahim, Madeline Bell, Cleo Laine, Guy Barker, Kenny Wheeler, and Joe Beck. A career highlight was performing in Kurt Elling’s radio-drama *The Big Blind* alongside Elling and Dee Dee Bridgewater at Lincoln Center and London’s Southbank, in a role written especially for him.
For over a decade, Shaw has hosted the weekly *Ronnie Scott’s Radio Show* on Jazz FM, broadcast globally. His podcast *Not Even Music* is now in its third series.
His 2023 album *Greek Street Friday* was praised as “smart and soulful” (*The Guardian*), followed in 2024 by *An Adventurous Dream*, a Strayhorn tribute with saxophonist Tony Kofi.
