Formed at the beginning of the post-pandemic social boom, Memphis psychedelic rock outfit Jombi are students of music and lifelong friends further bonded by a drive to create a sound that is uniquely theirs. The band is renowned for their influences of contrasting genres such as modern psychedelia, 70s progressive/experimental rock, folk rock-driven americana, and second wave midwestern emo. It’s never quite known where Jombi is taking you during a song or an album, and that’s exactly what they want.  Their latest album, 2023’s Out to Pasture, is their first studio effort since their 2022 debut ...Jombi Presents and the follow up Silent I Will Stay EP. Out to Pasture is a notable step forward in the quartet’s dynamic range and technical tendencies, and shows them experimenting with exploratory and noisy soundscapes, airy vocal harmonies, and lush americana instrumentation.
