Keene Jazz Orchestra Jazz Concert at Redfern Arts Center At Keene State College

After a two-year hiatus, the Keene Jazz Orchestra is enthused to announce its upcoming Spring Concert of traditional and contemporary big band music.

This years concert features the return of dynamic guest vocalist Leila Teitleman and a number of special guest soloists from Keene Jazz Orchestra past and present. The program includes big band standards by the great Count Basie and Duke Ellington, as well as exciting, progressive arrangements by Pat Metheny, Fred Sturm, and bandleader Steve Cady.

Founded by Scott Mullett, the Keene Jazz Orchestras mission is to perform, propagate, and provide education for American Big Band music. The 17 piece band is comprised of the Monadnock regions finest instrumentalists, educators, and students, and boasts a résumé of performances and collaborations with some of the greatest living performers and repertoire in big band music. KJO operates under the musical direction of founding member and bassist Steve Cady, who directs Jazz Ensembles at Keene State College, is the Performing Arts Chair at Vermont Academy and performs and teaches regionally as a bassist and music educator. ...

Tickets are $15 adults/$12 for seniors & students. Face coverings are required in Redfern Arts Center Main Theater.
