Although Kenny Washington has a busy and international schedule, every year he finds time to perform in Denmark with 3 of Scandinavia's most recognized musicians. In 2015, this orchestra recorded the album "Moanin" at Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen. In 2021, Kenny Washington was nominated for a GRAMMY in the category "Best Jazz Vocal Album", which was certainly not undeserved, as he is described as one of the world's best living jazz singers.

The American singer lives in San Francisco, but he travels far and wide, not just in the world but also in his projects with other artists. He has worked with Gregory Porter, Elvis Costello and Roberta Gambarini and toured with Wynton Marsalis, Eric Reed and Joe Locke.

Kenny Washington was born in New Orleans where as a child he sang gospel in church and played saxophone in school bands. And it was precisely at school that he met two talented teenage brothers named Branford and Wynton. Thus inspired by Brdr. Marsalis encouraged Kenny Washington to study music at Xavier University in Cincinnati and then sing in the US Navy Band, stationed in Japan. Today, Kenny Washington has performed in most of the world and he regularly tours in the USA, Asia and Australia.

Selvom Kenny Washington har en travl og international tidsplan finder han hvert år tid til at optræde i Danmark med 3 af Skandinaviens mest anerkendte musikere. I 2015 indspillede dette orkester albummet ”Moanin” på Jazzhus Montmartre i København. I 2021 blev Kenny Washington GRAMMY-nomineret i kategorien “Best Jazz Vocal Album” hvilket bestemt ikke var ufortjent, da han betegnes som en af verdens bedste, nulevende jazzsangere.



Til daglig bor den amerikanske sanger i San Francisco men han kommer vidt omkring, ikke bare i verden men også i sine projekter med andre kunstnere. Han har bl.a. arbejdet med navne som Gregory Porter, Elvis Costello og Roberta Gambarini samt turneret med Wynton Marsalis, Eric Reed og Joe Locke.
