Koppel & Son is a close collaboration between father and son, Anders Koppel and Benjamin Koppel, two musicians boasting long and wide-ranging careers in Danish contemporary music. Koppel & Son’s repertoire is extensive, comprising mostly of the two generation’s own compositions. Both father and son are skilled scavengers and curators of diverse musical expressions and genres, which their album, Koppel & Son (2014), bears testimony to. In this concert, Koppel & Son will break down the borders between rhythmic and classical music accompanied by this year’s Summer Jazz Giant, US drummer Brian Blade, and a classical string quartet led by Danish violinist Anne Søe.
