Kyle Eastwood - "Eastwood By Eastwood” at Jazz Club Étoile

With a dozen albums to his credit, Kyle Eastwood has never given up on his desire.Although he made a few screen appearances when he was younger, he decided to devote himself to jazz when he left his teens. While composing several scores for his father (Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby and Letters From Iwo Jima), he confirmed his career as a leader over the years. As a double bassist and bass player, he remained faithful to a traditional, melodic approach to jazz, often adding lyrical embellishments. ‘Cinema is my second passion', he admits. So it seemed only natural that his quintet should now turn its attention to film soundtracks.Kyle Eastwood's new creation, ‘Eastwood Symphonic', is a tribute to his father based around a dozen film scores rearranged for symphony orchestra. Contrebassiste et bassiste, il demeure fidèle à une approche traditionnelle et mélodique du jazz, qu'il enrichit souvent d'ornements lyriques. « Le cinéma est ma seconde passion » avoue-t-il. Il paraissait donc naturel, qu'aujourd'hui, son quintet se penche sur les bandes originales de filmLa nouvelle création de Kyle Eastwood, « Eastwood Symphonic » est un hommage à son père autour d'une dizaine de musiques de film réarrangées pour orchestre symphonique.
