Laurent Doumont has been taking his grooves out to clubs and festivals on the streets of Brussels and abroad for more than 20 years, trying to bring color to Belgium’s grey. Recently, an introspective quest of his Sicilian descent gave birth to the « Americano » project. Twelve great Italian standards joyfully adapted in the Soul Jazz idiom he cares for. A very personal project indeed.

L'AMERICANO
Laurent Doumont promène ses grooves depuis une vingtaine d’années de club en festival, sur les pavés de Bruxelles et d’ailleurs avec l’ambition d’en égayer la grisaille. Récemment une quête introspective de ses origines siciliennes a donné vie au projet « l’Americano », douze grands standards italiens joyeusement adaptés dans une esthétique Soul-Jazz.
Imaginez Celentano, Modugno ou Paolo Conte traités à la manière de Marvin Gaye, Al Green ou Gainsbourg... En fermant les yeux, vous pourrez presque entendre les vagues sur les plages de Capri !
