Lounaskonsertti: UMO Helsinki Ensemble – Joy Cannon at Savoy-teatteri

In this lunchtime concert, UMO Helsinki Ensemble interprets Cannonball Adderley’s (USA 1926–1975) best-known pieces from joyful and yet bluesy hard bop to soul jazz. You’ll hear Adderley’s classics such as the real soul jazz anthem Mercy, Mercy, Mercy, the elegant swing classic Jeannine and one of the most memorable blues-jazz themes, Work Song.

Vuoden viimeisessä lounaskonsertissa UMO Helsinki Ensembletulkitsee Cannonball Adderleyn (USA 1926–1975) tunnetuimpia kappaleita iloluonteisesta ja blues-henkisestä hard bopista soul jazz -klassikoihin. Konsertissa kuullaan Adderleyn paletista mm. todellinen soul jazz -anthem Mercy, Mercy, Mercy, elegantti svengiklassikko Jeannine sekä yksi mieleenpainuvimmista blues-jazz-teemoista Work Song.
UMO Helsinki Ensemble on UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestrasta koottu pienempi kokoonpano, jonka muusikoilla on mittava ura niin UMOn riveissä kuin lukuisissa omissa projekteissaan. Ohjelmiston on suunnitellut Jouni Järvelä, joka myös liidaa yhtyettä.
