Extreme Thursdays @ Quinn’s presents Man Forever, the exploratory percussion project of the noted drummer John Colpitts (aka Kid Millions). Opening will be the Brooklyn-based guitarist Mike Gamble.

John Colpitts, aka Kid Millions, is the drummer and founder of Oneida and Man Forever. He has performed with Boredoms, Spiritualized, Akron/Family, Marnie Stern and Yo La Tengo, among many others. Man Forever’s latest album Ryonen, recorded with So Percussion, was released April 2014 by Thrill Jockey Records. There will be no cover charge at the door but donations for the musicians will be requested. Upcoming concerts as part of Extreme Thursdays @ Quinn’s include:

August 21 — Peter Evans/Sam Pluta: Cutting-edge virtuosi, trumpeter Evans (Mostly Other People Do the Killing) and composer/sound artist Pluta, perform innovative electro-acoustic improvisations;

August 28 — Talibam!: Genre-obliterating guerrillas, keyboardist Matt Mottel (Rhys Chatham, Akron/Family) and drummer Kevin Shea (MOPDtK), return to Quinn’s and continue their reign of terror on behalf of worldwide sonic love revolution. Or something.

September 11 — Juan Pablo Carletti Trio: Sr. Carletti returns to the Quinn's house Ludwig kit, joined by Tony Malaby on saxophones and Chris Hoffman on cello;

September 25 — Iron Dog: Brooklyn's finest -- viz. Sarah Bernstein on violin and vocals, Stuart Popejoy on bass and synth, and Andrew Drury on drums and percussion -- "create spontaneous soundscapes where minimalist structures erupt into psychedelic onslaughts". Consider yourself warned.

October 23 — The Spanish Donkey: Keyboardist Jamie Saft, guitarist Joe Morris and drummer Mike Pride deliver one monster, fire-breathing, ecstatic donkey punch in this exceptionally powerful power trio.
